We are big fans
of Dutch Illustrator LOES RIPHAGEN‘s book
‘Trunk for the Nose’
or in Dutch ‘ Bij de neus genomen’.
That book is illustrated by a cutting paper (collage) technique,
which makes ‘the jungle’ becoming alive.
Actually for us it is art…
The cover of the book is open and looks like a showbox…
A black cover with the title in gold.
Really awesome and very unique!
As a follow up she’d made
which is something like
A booklet where she is teaching you
how to create a beautiful paper cut animal yourself.
In very easy steps with examples.
And if you will make a version on your own,
she will be delighted when you send her a picture.
Well, we will Loes : )
So obviously we’ve ordered this ourselves,
as we have a creative dude at home
and we are big fans of her work.
But this will be a great gift for birthdays,
Xmas or just creative days with the kids anyway.
ENJOY A LOVELY CREATIVE WEEKEND!

But we’re figuring out,
is it about the costumes,
the candy or the scaryness…?
For us it’s about the costumes
and the scary faces.
Although, in a way,
they’re kind of cute all the time.
Here’s an example from the creatives of
The best costume!!!!
Very stylish, cute and fun!

Hope you will like our creatures too…

The brilliant Dallas Clayton is an artist…
Not just one to frame in one category.
More detailed, he’s an author,
illustrator, public speaker,
mural painter, and adventure seeker.
Also a skateboarder, father of a son
and friend of the world.
One thing is for sure…
he’s spreading ‘the word’ in beautiful illustrations.
It can be for all different moods,
and it’s all from the heart
with very very very positive vibes.
Without being it way too sweet!
Mister Clayton is helping us through the day.
Good, bad, tough, something to do with love,
happiness, sadness, insecureness,
doubts, thoughts, feelings…
But all in the most positive ways to look towards it.
It can make a total difference… and change your mood instantly…
Anyway, it makes us happy and optimistic all the time.
So we feel he deserves a worldcup
for all the brilliant positive cool vibes he’s sharing!
Follow him… You will get daily FREE peptalks…
THANK YOU MISTER CLAYTON!
WE WILL DREAM BIG, BIG TIME!

It is weekend and for us the two-week-May-holiday did start.
To make sure the kids won’t stay in all the time
on the Ipad/Iphone/Xbox,
we’ll try to find some distractions, haha!
However this means just for the (almost) 5-year-old…
The almost 13-year-old we can’t save anymore…
The digital world took over… Ok, luckily there is sports ; )
Well through Pinterest we’ve found out about
ATELIER POUR LES ENFANTS.
An incredibly inspiring blog
from two cool creative ladies,
Odile and Junko.
They give workshops just in France,
so luckily we can follow their blog,
to give us some wonderful inspiration.
The really COOL thing about this blog is,
besides the wonderful results of kids-art,
they give us an inside in their minds.
They show us their inspiration.
How cool is that!
So they teach us in a way about art…LOVE IT!
And as a daughter of an artist
(art painter, sculpturer, screen printer)
I can totally appreciate their brilliant taste of art!
So go and visit ATELIER POUR ENFANTS
and if you live in France visit their workshops
(we’re jealous already ; )!
And let the kids be
for as long as they can!
And you as a parent, on the other hand,
will learn much more then you’ve ever expected…
About ART, DIY & quality time with the kids.
And in the end you will have a unique peace of art in your home.
Frame the one which makes you most happy! What a gift!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

What is it with Monday’s?
Is it the start of a new week?
Or did we loved the weekend so much…?
Or do we have a heavy duty week ahead of us…?
If you have a boring job, then we can imagine,
but if you love what you do…
Monday’s can just be a FRESH HAPPY START of the week!
Anyway, it’s up to you what you make out of it.
HAPPY MONDAY Y’ALL!
This is a shout out to all of our COOL friends in the business.
COOL as in ‘the inside’…
They need some support!
In PUBLIC ENEMY‘s words:
“DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE!’
It is something which comes up into our mind all the time lately.
Conversations with unique people, true influencers, artists, designers…
We talk about one thing… THE HYPE…
What’s cool and what’s not…
Actually, we don’t like ‘NOT’…
It feels negative and a waste of energy…
THE MAKERS, THE MOVERS & THE SHAKERS
it can be very frustrating to see all the copying,
in the kids-branding-art-design-world.
Who’s hot or not (THE HYPE)
And all about followers.
Which comes from the commercial-side.
For us that is a bit of a shallow-thought…
There are so many incredibly talented artists,
designers, photographers, agents
& last but, for sure, not least, the mums.
Some people just started or don’t have a lot with social media.
That doesn’t say ‘anything’ about their talent. Or what they’re capable of.
Although we have to say that there are many many COOL people
with loads of followers who are truly talented… obviously!!!!
No doubt about that. For them it can be very annoying too!
They’ve started somewhere too… It’s hard work you know…
For those who run after all the hype’s
Just OPEN YOUR EYES, TAKE A GOOD LOOK,
EXPLORE A BIT…
you will find out there’s a beautiful true world…
Where creative people are human beings without a marketing machine.
They don’t want to shine, they don’t have a big ego.
They have loads of doubts…
they just want to create.
And you, you will find you, your true self.
That’s the best gift!
We don’t need an army of the same looking people (from the outside).
The world will be better with unique people.
Who will choose themselves and feel good about that!
AND THE SHAKERS!
They are the true inspiration.
