We’ve met the ‘very cool’ owner and designer Mietze
in 2013 at the Dutch kidsfair Kleine Fabriek.
At the best spot of this fair, the HTKN-one day shop.
We love her collections.
The shape of the clothes are archetypisch…
something we feel very connected with.
Sweaters, tees, cool pants…
Every season the prints and colors and print techniques do change.
The forms will stay.
While designing, she did a lot of print technique research
and ‘the big search’ to the best printable sweater everrrrr…
She didn’t found it yet,
…so she decided to design and produce ‘that one single great sweater’ herself.
Mausbird’s own sustainable contemporary sweater,
One you can wash a hundred times and it still will be a beauty.
One you can wear every day.
One who’s really nice for our world,
produced in a humane environment
and no child labour!

A year ago we fell secretly in love with this brand.
The fabrics, the prints, the shapes…
Last month we had a première-experience…
touching their fabrics, take a closer look at the shapes,
while meeting WOLF & RITA at Playtime Paris.
How wonderful!
It’s all about the details.
Their sense for great style.
Minimalistic forms becoming great
with their choice of fabrics.
It’s sophisticated with a classical twist
and yet very contemporary in style.
The finest fabrics are always locally outsourced.
So the tag 100% made in Portugal is their proof of quality
and their support to the local community. Beautiful.
And for parents to choose an adequate shirt for their boys,
like one we would choose ourselves,
in cotton, the softest portuguese flannel,
special washed denim, shiny lurex
and even synthetic leather details…
High-quality,
very well made manufactured,
contemporary stylish
and with a ‘green’ heart…

Playful at Paris
A few weeks ago already, let’s say three… : )
we’ve rushed back and fourth from Amsterdam, by car, to Paris.
It wasn’t even possible for us to go,
but we couldn’t resist and we’ve made it possible!
With the youngest on tour with us, … that necessary…, hahaha…
Just being there for a little afternoon was enough for
a happy face and being incredibly inspired.
PLAYTIME PARIS it is!
We’ve spent the night at Mama Shelter
and left at 7 in the morning
Owww so lucky we did!
Catching up with our favourites…
Loud Apparel, Noch Mini & Anatology
Ofcourse for their great inspiring designs,
but even more because they’re very nice and inspiring people
and lovely to hang out with. Talking about designs, fabrics, inspiration…
Always first on our list to visit.
In front of Mini Rodini‘s booth (with their ‘always wannahaves’- designs)
we’ve bumped into this cool lady, shop owner of
… TINY (store Berlin), the lovely Anne.
With her amazing good taste and sense of style.
If you’re in Berlin you have to visit her shop… It’s very inspiring!
It was a big surprise to see our photography printed big,
in the booth of Antwerp’s kidsbrand
Lion Of Leisure.
They’ve just started one year ago
and they almost can’t handle the orders
for their handprinted designs.
How wonderful!
Great to see what social media can do for a brand nowadays.
It was also very lovely to say hi to the Dutch Ladies of :
My little Dress Up,
Even though we can meet in Amsterdam : )
A shiny cool collection.
Hopefully we have a lot of weddings next summer.
And having a nice chat with the coolest shoesbrand from London
Chapter 2.
We loved their presentation. Last season they already won a Milk Award.
Follow them, amazing perfectly handmade shoes and belts.
Last but not very least, we’ve met the designer of
Wolf & Rita.
Finally could touch their designs.

We’re in love with the clothes, the photography
and the coolest model, their son…
His funny face makes us smile big time!
When we literally left the builing we were introduced, by Lion of Leisure,
to the ladies of Stadlandkind (Switzerland). A Swiss cool webshop.
Whom we know by Instagram.
Haha… So funny that we first meet on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
But much better to meet in real live!

One upon a time in Amsterdam…
a little Mister was talking to some of his cool friends…
Mister Toekan, the boss mr. Buffalo, the missies Giraffe and Zebra.
Hanging around a couple of cool trees… on a couch…
Just playing together. All together.
It doesn’t matter how you play or what belongs together.
The imagination of a little boy can go wherever he wants it to go.
We so much love that!!!
Feeling sorry for ourselves in the matureworld, haha!
Well there’s one kind of toy we already know for 40-years… yes yes!
They celebrate it this year…
It’s PLAYMOBIL
… who’ve started in 1974!
Which makes us slightly aware of the phase we’re in…
Good memories though… still playing at the grandparents house
with old skool cool items…
Playmobil from our childhood are big wannahaves nowadays
because of their great contemporary look and cool colors.
We always think they should REMAKE it again,
so this generation can enjoy it too,
If it’s not in the collection of the (grand)parents already.
They’re still creating very cool new playworlds every year.
And if there’s an important event or celebration,
like the coronation of the new Dutch King & Queen last year,
there will be a Playmobil-version of them. So funny and cool!
Well we fell in love with the Koala-bear-tree and Mister Toekan.
(Very Important People in our home).
So sweet, great colors and they very much fit in the style of our home.
We’re already thinking about the next generation, who will be able to play with
the newest versions of 2014 and will probably think…
…yehhh VERY COOL OLD SKOOL!
